We enjoyed our taste test of Kroger’s Private Selection products as part of my husband’s birthday party late November.
A few things I/we love about Private Selection:
* TASTE – it’s so good you’d swear it came from a 5 star restaurant.
* SELECTION – So many options! I had a hard time making my selections, but we are all well pleased with what we had.
* PRICE – Affordable and wonderful!
* PLATE, PAIRING TIPS – Love, love, LOVE the pairing and plating tips on each box! They take your meal from delish to WOW! (And you get all the credit) 
We had the Baked Tortilla Cup Collection as an appetizer and they went over big! My personal favorite was the Roasted Eggplant-Tomato Tortilla Cup (my mouth waters just thinking about them!) while hubby and our youngest daughter liked the Spinach-Artichoke Tortilla Cups the best.
Next we had the Pepperoni & Roasted Garlic and the Margherita Napolitana Marble Hearth Baked Pizzas. I knew these were special the moment they came out of the box. The descriptions alone have you begging for a taste:
Pepperoni & Roasted Garlic – Thin and flaky crust topped with robust tomato sauce, starvecchio parmesan, fire roasted garlic, peralini mozzarella, basil and pepperoni. In a word: YUM!
Margherita Napolitana – Thin and flaky crust topped with halved grape tomatoes, pearlini mozzarella, basil and stravecchio parmesan. In a word: YUM!
None of us had a clear favorite of the two because they were both SO good. Our youngest declared them excellent and just like the ones she had in Italy, yes, ITALY. 
We rounded out the meal with Belgian Chocolate Lave Cakes. Love this true-to-life description: moist, rich chocolate cake filled with Belgian chocolate ganache. We put a single candle on hubby’s and sang happy birthday while he made his wish. It was fun and cute. (Though I don’t recommend it unless you like melted candle wax as they are not kidding with the lava part). I ended up switching cakes with him while he was busy opening presents so that he wouldn’t have to eat melted candle wax with his cake. I know, I know, I am just too sweet. We all loved the cakes – and paired them with strong coffee to offset the decadent sweetness.
Our experience with Kroger’s Private Selection could have only been more perfect if our eldest daughter had been there with us a well. The three of us give them two thumbs up and we will definitely be buying more real soon.
